Deadline on WCAG 2.0 Last Call Review Extended

31 may 2006

The deadline for submitting comments on the Last Call Working Draft of the WCAG 2.0 has now been extended until the end of June which seems to make a lot of sense. The earlier date of the end of May gave the community a month to get their comments in on this near final drafting of the new guidelines.

There was a lot of posts about the WCAG 2.0 at the beginning of this month, due to the period of comment beginning. Joe Clark's article on a list apart, posted the other day is pretty scathing of the new draft. I would agree with a lot of what he says and the article points to some very worrying elements of the new guidelines.

It will be interesting to see what the samurai group comes up with.

Anyway at least its put accessibility back on the radar, slipped off for a long while there, the AJAX buzz took over, the web is a lot like the fashion industry really, its trend driven like any other market.
